The Eyes Have It!

Greater Greenwood United Ministry (GGUM) is proud to announce two new partners providing eye care for Greenwood residents who cannot afford care.

The Ministry and longstanding partners, The Lions Clubs, now have valuable support in both Integrated Vision Associates and Emerald City Eye Care.

Dr. Eric Bang of Integrated Vision Associates and Dr. Brian J. Poole of Emerald City Eye Care have each agreed to provide eye care to Greater Greenwood United Ministry’s clients and patients who have undergone basic eye screenings and need treatment.

For the past 20 years, GGUM has offered basic eye screenings to adults and children but has not been able to offer adequate referrals to eye care providers willing to donate services or offer them at deeply discounted rates.

GGUM Executive Director Rosemary Bell says, “Expanding our Eye Care Program is another way for us to serve Greenwood Residents, especially our friends who find themselves in Medical and Financial Crises."

Bell points to scripture, noting 1 Peter 4:10:

"As each has received a gift, use it to serve one another, as good stewards of God's varied grace" (1 Peter 4:10)
