Standing Shoulder to Shoulder With Volunteers!

“Let your Light Shine” was this year’s theme, and the light beamed.

Volunteers shined brightly recently at Greater Greenwood United Ministry’s (GGUM) Annual Volunteer Banquet.

A crowd of GGUM doctors, nurses, staffers, family members of the volunteers, board members, and Ministry leadership came out to highlight volunteers whose dedication and hard work are largely responsible for the tremendous service the non-profit provides.

Executive Director Rosemary Bell heaped appreciative words on the volunteers, calling them the “Lifeblood” of the ministry.

Many of the volunteers have more than a decade of history with the ministry, and several have served from the beginning for almost 3-decades.

Speaking to the volunteer cheering crowd was William "Bill" Jarrell, interim pastor of the Greenwood Community Church of the Nazarene, a longtime GGUM partner church.

Family members accepted honorariums for volunteers who have gone to be with the Lord.

Laurie Cone, Robert “Keith” Allison, and Gene LeClaire were diligent volunteers who passed away last year.

Board Chair Thomasenia Goode thanked the volunteers and their guests for attending.

Lanterns and candles adorned tables driving home the “Let your Light Shine” theme, and Dr. Coleman Robinson tipped his hat to St. Patty's Day.
